Lamoille Valley Fish & Game Club Had a Great Year in 2024

2024 Annual Letter to Members

Greetings LVFGC Members,

2024 was another year of growth and improvement at our Club. At year end we had 690 members.

In addition to shooting on your own there are many other ways to enjoy your membership. They are detailed along with contact information on our website lvfgc.com. and include: Skeet, 3D Archery, Lamoille Women’s Shooting Group, Green Mountain Practical Shooters, Cowboy Action Shooting, Hunter Education, Gun Show, Muzzleloading and new this year, Knife and Axe Throwing.

LVFGC supports the shooting sports by hosting organized shooting and training events in various disciplines. These events are posted on the Club Calendar on our website. The calendar is an important tool to check before heading to the range. We try hard to ensure there are always places for members to shoot when organized events are happening. If you check the calendar beforehand you’ll know what to expect before arriving.

Many of the activities we enjoy are not well understood or supported by the Legislature in Montpelier. The Vermont Federation of Sportsmen’s Clubs does a fantastic job advocating on our behalf. They make it easy to stay well informed about issues affecting us and when necessary, take action by contacting our representatives. I encourage those of you who haven’t seen it to explore their website at vtfsc.com

I was at the range recently with 3 members of another Vermont Fish and Game Club. They remarked how lucky we are to have the facilities we do. Our ranges are well laid out and can be used safely and simultaneously. We are indeed extremely fortunate. The Club we enjoy today is the way it is solely due to the hard work of volunteers over decades, continuing to the present. We are the beneficiaries and also the stewards of those efforts. I encourage those of you who can to come to a monthly meeting and become more involved. We can always use more help and would appreciate you stepping up.

Respectfully,

Rick Reed

President
